Scope
The Training Course aims to assist radiation protection professionals by providing methods for optimising the design and implementation of internal exposure monitoring programmes, resulting in more reliable dose estimates and reduced costs.

The course is based on the work of a consortium of research organisations together with nuclear industry organisations within the OMINEX (Optimisation of Monitoring for INternal EXposure) project, supported by the European Commission’s 5th Framework Programme (EURATOM).

Topics will include:
- current practice,
- monitoring costs,
- optimisation of measurement procedures,
- uncertainties in input data and parameters in dose calculations, and their propagation through to uncertainties in the assessed dose,
- specific guidance for a range of radionuclides and exposure conditions known to represent the greatest challenges for dose assessment,
- generic advice on the design and implementation of internal dose monitoring programmes.

Venue
The Training Course will be held in Paris, at the Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer lecture complex which is close to the Eiffel Tower, many hotels and restaurants.

Registration fees
The registration fee includes lunches, refreshments during course breaks, and conference literature. Registration and Programme information will be provided with the Second Announcement. Travel and accommodation costs are not included.
