Conference Title

The C W Mays Conference named after the late "Chuck" Mays – the organiser of many past Radium and Thorotrast meetings.

Scope of Conference

Subjects related to the toxicity of a -emitting radionuclides in man. Including epidemiological studies, toxicity studies using animals as a surrogate, biokinetic and dosimetry studies of a -emitters, measurement and bioassay methods appropriate to human populations. Includes studies related to naturally occurring radionuclides and sites of environmental contamination by a -emitting radionuclides.

Cotswold Evening

Depart after lunch on the 19th (Monday) for tour of Cotswold countryside and villages. Arriving early evening for Pig Roast in the garden the Trout Inn – an ancient pub besides the River Thames at Lechlade (www.the-trout-inn.sagenet.co.uk). Also enjoy a game of Aunt Sally! Live music. Return to conference hotel at approximately 11pm.

Conference Dinner

Tuesday 18th. Guest Lecture followed by Conference Dinner. Great traditional English food cooked by a Frenchman.

Accommodation

At the Conference Centre with overflow in the nearby Madison Hotel – transport provided. Also, some accommodation available in smaller hotels within Faringdon – walking distance from the Conference Centre. Single, double and twin rooms available.

Inclusive

Conference Fees

Provisional Rates: Standard single room accommodation at Conference Centre £160/day, shared room £110/day – fully inclusive price includes bed and breakfast, lunch, evening meals, conference dinner, Cotswold Evening, mid-morning coffee, afternoon tea and conference charges. Some lower cost accommodation may also be available. No accommodation day rate of £40/day includes lunch, conference dinner, mid-morning coffee, afternoon tea and conference charges. There will be a separate charge of £40 for day visitors wishing to attend the Cotswold Evening event.

Publication

Full length and shorter papers (average length 5 pages) will published together by Radiation Protection Dosimetry (price included in registration fee). All will be subject to journal peer-review processes.
