Radiation Biologist





Gray Cancer Institute, the leading institute in radiation biology in the UK is seeking to appoint a senior scientist in its radiation biology programme.


The available post is for a senior scientist to work with a team focused on translational radiation biology. This team has strong links with clinicians at Mount Vernon Hospital and the post holder will be expected to develop and strengthen these links. Several years experience and a demonstrated track record of excellence and innovation is essential for the post.


The post holder will be expected to apply their experience to a range of relevant cancer/cellular biology projects but will have a specific interest in radiation biology. The current interests of the group include cellular and molecular mechanisms of radioresistance, molecular markers of chemo and radioresponsiveness, and the effects of low dose radiation applied to both radiotherapy and radiation risk.


This post is offered on a 3-year contract, with salary in the range £36,000 - £46,272 pa, depending on qualifications and experience. Generous terms include 30 days' annual leave and an excellent contributory pension scheme.
